The best interview Writers on Process has posted yet. First of all, I never heard the song before but loved it, and could even become a fan of Laura Burhenn.

This interview was really thoughtful. Her responses were kind of like a gourmet meal compared to the responses of a lot of writers. I especially liked her comment, "There's a real mystery to the songwriting process for me, and I'd rather not ruin it by trying to over analyze it." It reminded of my favorite line from Wordsworth:

"... Our meddling intellect
Mis-shapes the beauteous forms of things:--
We murder to dissect.
